A popular Jersey Shore bakery will be shutting off its ovens for the last time right after Thanksgiving. E. The historic Grand Summit Hotel is getting a facelift. The Summit institution, which has existed since 1868 at 570 Springfield Ave., is undergoing a renovation by Landmark Hospitality with an expected opening in the 2024 season, as "The Albion Summit." The hotel will downsize from 150 rooms to 100, and offer a restaurant, a lounge and a co-op working space after the first phase of renovations are done, which is expected to take eight months. Bergen County Tavern Reopens As New Concept Months After Being Sold
The Iron Horse is back. The Westwood institution open for more than 50 years, which closed after being sold over the summer when the original owners decided to retire, has reopened at 20 Washington Ave. The new owners are calling it The Tavern at Iron Horse, the new owners announced on Facebook three months after the sale. 112-Year-Old NJ Movie Theater Reopens For First Time Since Pandemic
One of New Jersey's oldest movie theaters has reopened for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. Bernardsville Cinema 3 officially reopened on Friday, Oct. 27, with the International Bernardsville Film Festival, which will run through Sunday, Oct. 29. More than 61,000 gun cases sold nationwide are being recalled due to a malfunction that can allow unauthorized people to access dangerous weapons, and already led to the death of a child. Illinois-based Fortress Safe announced this week that the biometric gun safes were being recalled due to a "serious safety hazard and risk of death" caused by a programming feature that made the safes more accessible.
