The Mayor indicated that at the meeting, he would be making a presentation explaining the budget in greater detail, and to discuss the ways in which the Mayor and Council are considering how to address the long-term financial health of Leonia.

Zeigler said a portion of the meeting will be used to discuss how and where the borough can make cuts in an effort to keep the budget under the 2 percent increase cap.

"Either we have to reduce costs in other areas, or find ways to increase revenues. In the case of the former, the Borough has been trimming its variable expenses for some time, but making substantial additional cuts will without question impact the high levels of services our residents both deserve and have come to expect," Zeigler said in a statement. "To increase revenue, we either have to raise fees or find new ways to increase our tax base.”

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Leonia High School is located at 100 Christie Heights St.
