Toppled Fort Lee crane just misses house

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: An operator escaped injury and a Fort Lee house was narrowly missed by a crane that toppled into its side yard during a tree-cutting operation this morning.

The 9:30 a.m. incident brought Fort Lee police, firefighters and EMS workers, as well as OSHA inspectors, to Edgewater Lane.

The operator from Bay Crane Service in Long Island City declined medical treatment.

The house had some damage to a gutter and some shingles when the bucket grazed the corner of the house.
