Port Authority Police: Long-Haul Trucker Caught Trying To Beat Toll

FORT LEE, N.J. -- A long-haul trucker from Texas used zip ties and duct tape to flip up and obscure his license plate in an effort to beat the George Washington Bridge toll, Port Authority police said.

Officers stopped the Freightliner tractor and trailer on the New York side after it rolled through a GWB toll lane Monday night, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

They charged 40-year-old Scott A. Dockham of Richland Hills, Texas, with theft of services and record tampering.
