Paul P. Dickson, 31, of Saddle Brook, was identified with help from North Bergen police, Bogota Police Capt. James Sepp told Daily Voice on Friday.

He and a second suspect, Abdul Hardy, 49, of Paterson, were arrested in the city by members of the multi-department strike team, Sepp said.

The third suspect, 52-year-old Abdul Khaliq M. Muhammad, was also arrested in Paterson a few days later by Bogota and Saddle Brook detectives, he said.

In one of the thefts, two bandits walked out of a Quik Check on River Road in Bogota with $1,778 worth of cigarettes, Sepp said.

Those working the case included Bogota Detectives Victor Negron Jr. and Hector Liriano, Fairview Detective Sgt. Michael Martik and Saddle Brook Detective Lt. Thomas Kivari, Detective Sgt. Jeffrey Panagia and Detective John Tritto.

Dickson and Muhammad were being held on $25,000 each in the Bergen County Jail. Both also had several outstanding warrants, records show. Hardy was released on a summons.

The trio was also suspected in shopliftings in Bloomingdale, Clifton, Little Falls, North Bergen, Pequannock, West New York, and Wayne, authorities said.
