A uniformed officer in a marked cruiser repeatedly signaled the driver of a black, 2016 Toyota sedan coming off the bridge's lower level at 3:15 a.m. to pull over, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.
Raudy Morel Bueno, 27, of Guttenberg "ignored the instructions for the officer and continued on," Pentangelo said.
Bueno eventually stopped at a light at Fletcher Avenue, he said.
His face was flushed, he didn't have any identification and he failed a sobriety test, Pentangelo said, so officers took him into custody.
They charged him with DWI, contempt of court and driving with a suspended license before releasing Bueno to a responsible adult.
He was the second Hudson County motorist in exactly two hours to be stopped and charged with DWI coming off the bridge's New Jersey-bound lower level before dawn Monday.
Officers on the westbound lower level stopped a 1998 Honda whose driver was swerving in and out of his lane at a slow speed at 1:15 a.m., Pentangelo said.
Henry Cando, 43, of Union City -- who had bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol on his breath -- lost his balance during a sobriety test, then registered a .10% blood-alcohol leve, he said.
Cando was charged with DWI and careless driving and received traffic summonses before being released to a responsible adult, Pentangelo said.
