PALISADES PARK, N.J. – A Palisades Park laborer was charged with child abuse after a 6-year-old girl showed up at school with injuries to her arm and leg, said authorities who arrested him.
Roberto Morquecho, 32, was released on a summons after detectives from the Bergen County prosecutor’s office and borough police took him into custody on Wednesday, county Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
Grewal said a staffer with the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted his investigators on Wednesday, triggering a joint investigation by his Special Victims Unit and local police.
Morquecho, who works for a glass company, was given a March 6 first appearance date in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
