A driver aware of an NJSP Amber Alert for Rebecca Valenzuela followed the van and dialed 911, authorities said.

Troopers from the Bloomfield barracks pulled the van over at milepost 156.9 on the northbound GSP, took Diomedes Valenzuela into custody and secured the child, State Police said.

Valenzuela was considered armed and dangerous, they said in an earlier alert.

He was driving a silver 2004 Caravan with NJ license plates (K24-ECS) down Route 95 after crossing the George Washington Bridge into Fort Lee, the NJSP said.
