“This is the fourth year we're doing and look forward to doing this every year in order to display the importance of early detection,” LPES Capt. Tarcisio Nunes said. ”This is part of our ongoing commitment to promote healthy living in the community we serve.”

Every October businesses and charities use the color pink to increase awareness about breast cancer and to promote raising funds to research a cure for the disease.

LPES has joined the cause and urges the public to do the same.

The Pink Gloves are from Medline, which is donating a portion of the proceeds to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

Since 2005, Medline has committed more than $1.2 million to the NBCF to help fund mammograms fo individuals who cannot afford them, as well as for educational and prevention resources.
