FROM COLUMBUS DAY: Authorities today traced a call from someone threatening to shoot up Garfield police headquarters to a family in town who had nothing to do with it, law enforcement sources told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .
“Looks like it was an Internet call using a local number,” one said.
The caller, who had a British accent, didn’t provide a timetable for his supposed threat to fire on headquarters with an AR-15, the sources told CLIFFVIEW PILOT tonight.
The family whose number he used is Hispanic, they said.
Bergen County Police Department investigators joined their Garfield counterparts in tracing the source.
