Former Fairview Fire Chief Craig Peterson Dies, 61

FAIRVIEW, N.J. — Craig William Peterson of Fairview died on Sunday, Nov. 5. He was 61.

The Teaneck native served as a volunteer Fairview firefighter for 42 years, and was chief in 1989 and 2005. He worked for the Bergen County Utilities Association for 28 years and was a member and a former commander of the American Legion Post 365.

He is survived by his son, Anthony Peterson and his wife, Paulina; sister, Debbie Buttacavole and her husband James; and his nephew, Daniel Buttacavole.

Services and interment were on Thursday.

More than $5,700 had been raised on a GoFundMe for Peterson as of Friday evening.
