LEONIA, N.J.–The Leonia Recreation Department recently installed a WeatherBug Lightning Detector in Wood Park.

Whenever there is an alert, a siren sounds alerting everyone in Wood Park about nearby lightning activity, according to the department.

Residents outside of the surrounding area can check for lightning alerts at the park through this link .

The Weatherbug is a valuable tool for coaches to use whenever storms are on the horizon, according to the Recreation Department.
