PALISADES PARK, N.J.– Palisades Jr./Sr. High School jumped 118 spots to No. 128 in New Jersey Monthly Magazine's list of the state's top high schools.
According to New Jersey Monthly Magazine, rankings are based entirely on data reported by the schools to the state Department of Education and published in the School Performance Reports section of the department's website.
- Percentage of juniors and seniors taking at least one Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) test in English, math, Social Studies or science.
- Student participation in visual and performing arts classes.
- Graduation rate.
- Percentage of students enrolled in college 16 months after graduating high school.
"Palisades Park’s students are doing very well on AP Exams," said Superintendent Joseph Cirillo. "Seventy-five percent of Palisades Park students scored three or four times higher on exams in English, math, social studies and science compared to only 58 percent in their peer group and 69.7 percent statewide.”
Cirillo congratulated the district's entire staff and student body.
“Moving up over 100 places in the ranking, in such a short period, demonstrates that we are making significant gains in preparing our future graduates for college and careers for tomorrow," he said. “I am extremely proud of this momentous improvement and know we will soar even higher in the near future.”
