PASSAIC, N.J. – Four Bergen County and two Passaic County municipalities made a list of the 30 New Jersey towns “that feel the most pain from property taxes, based on what their residents earn,” including the City of Passaic which came in at number one, NJ.com reports .

The rankings considered the median household income and average property tax bills of homeowners in New Jersey municipalities, the story says.

Here are the Bergen and Passaic towns on the list, their rankings, and the percent of the median household income that homeowners spend on property taxes in each town, according to NJ.com:

  • #28: Wallington: about 16 percent
  • #21: Garfield: about 16.7 percent
  • #18: Fairview: about 17.1 percent
  • #7: Lodi: about 20.2 percent
  • #2: Paterson: About 25.4 percent
  • #1: Passaic: About 29 percent
