Fort Lee Mayor Sokolich Re-Elected With More Than 71% Of Vote

FORT LEE N.J. -- Democrat Mayor Mark Sokolich handily defeated Republican challenger Eric P. Fisher on Tuesday.

Sokolich, who manages real estate, had 3,002 votes, beating out Fisher, who had 1,206, according to unofficial results from the Bergen County Board of Elections.

Democrats Harvey Sohmer and Joseph L. Cervieri Jr. took two available council seats, with 2,602 and 2,663 votes, respectively. 

They topped Republicans Margaret S. Ahn (1,496 votes) and Jeffrey Valacer (1,226). 

Three Fort Lee Board of Education incumbents who all took office in 2013 were re-elected, with David B. Sarnoff getting 1,545 votes, Esther Han Silver 1,403 votes and Holley Morell 1,029 to outdistance Jerry J. Cicchelli, with 787. 

Leonia Mayor

LEONIA, N.J. -- Democrat Judah Zeigler gor 824 votes running unopposed for mayor. Democrats Gregory Makroulakis and Mark Minichiello received 695 and 761 votes, respectively, to take two available council seats. Republican Ronald Wolf finished out of the running with 352 votes. 

Leona Board of Education Elections

Leonia Board of Education candidates Noreen Courtney Wilds (565 votes) and Neophytos A. Antoniades (475) ran unopposed for two available three-year terms. Anthony J. Casino, who was also uncontested, garnered 559 votes for a two-year term. 

Palisades Park Council

A pair of Democrats won the Palisades Park Council race handily on Tuesday. Jongchul Lee got 689 votes and Joseph A. Testa with 635 took the two available seats. Republican candidates James Roper had 305 votes and Jacquelyn Roper had 277.
