Police got the call around 10:45 a.m. after the round shot ammunition was found on a basement window sill at the house at 114 Leonia Ave., Capt. Scott Tamagny told Daily Voice.

"Because it was not solid, we were concerned it could contain a charge or explosive powder," Tamagny said said.

The Bergen County Sheriff's Bomb Squad "removed it, x-rayed it and disposed of it safely," he said.

"The prior house owner was a history buff," the captain noted.
