Eric Simeoli, 20, was in the driveway of a Christie Street home when officers quickly pulled up just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Capt. Scott Tamagny told Daily Voice on Thursday.

The responders -- who included Officers Heather Murphy, Raymond Forsdahl and Special Officer Steve Oxnard – recognized Simioli from previous car break-ins and other incidents, he said.

They arrested Simeoli, of Grand Avenue, who Tamagny said was carrying more than 80 small plastic bags used to package marijuana.

Detective Sgt. Christopher Garris found that Simeoli entered three unlocked vehicles and was breaking into a fourth when Forsadahl interrupted him, the captain said.

A judge ordered Simeoli held on four counts of burglary and four of attempted theft, as well as one of drug paraphernalia possession.

Tamagny reminded citizens to always lock their vehicles and to never leave valuables – especially key fobs – inside.
