Suicidal Hackensack Man Becomes Port Authority's 63rd GWB 'Save' This Year

FORT LEE, N.J. -- Port Authority police made their 63th suicide intervention at the George Washington Bridge this year when they kept a 35-year-old emotionally troubled Hackensack man from jumping Friday afternoon.

Officers intercepted the man, who the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said was "Intent on jumping," around 4:35 p.m.

They took him into custody without injury and brought him to Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, Pentangelo said.
