The two youngsters “were on the way to School One when they were spoken to by a stranger” who was sitting on a curb on Anderson Avenue, Fort Lee Schools Supt. Raymond Bandlow said.

They described him as a “young adult male,” who “offered the children five dollars to come with him to his car,” Bandlow said.

“The children did exactly what we teach them to do,” the superintendent said. “They said ‘No,’ they ran to school and they repoted it right away to school authorities.”

Fort Lee police are investigating, Bandlow said, in a phone message to parents, “and all school personnel are especially on alert.”
