Scarf-wearing robber pulls knife on Teaneck gas station attendant

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: Teaneck police were searching for a robber who they said was carrying a large kitchen knife and wearing some type of wrap around his face while holding up a local gas station.

The robber — who can be seen holding the knife above — took off on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the Teaneck Road Exxon station near Fort Lee Road just before 8:30 Monday night, Lt. Andrew McGurr said this afternoon.

The robber was described as white, heavyset and balding, possibly in his 40s.

He was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt with lettering on the chest and left arm and had an orange scarf or bandana covering his mouth.

Anyone with information that can help the investigation is asked to call Teaneck police: (201) 837-2600.
