Rochelle Park PD Edges Paramus In Special Olympics NJ Fundraiser

ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- It's always a close one, and it was no different as Rochelle Park police edged their Paramus colleagues in the 3rd annual softball game to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey.

Rochelle Park Pitcher/Dispatcher Tom Breen wiggled out of a 9th inning, bases-loaded jam to earn the complete game 8-6 victory at Carlock Field in Rochelle Park.

More importantly, $3,000 was raised by the players and local businesses.

Police will continue to accept donations up to the date of the June 9 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey.

Rochelle Park Mayor Frank Valenzuela threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Saturday's game.
