Port Authority PD: Trucker Caught With Loaded Gun, Ammo, Pot, THC Gummies

FORT LEE, N.J. -- Port Authority police found a loaded handgun and additional ammo on a trucker who they said was also carrying more than a half-ounce of marijuana and edible THC gummies, authorities said.

Officers stopped the 2016 Hino tractor-tailer sending morning after it set off ian over-height alarm at the Lincoln Tunnel toll plaza in Weehawken, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.

The driver, 27-year-old Michael Anthony Paige Morse of Denver, provided an expired license, Pentangelo said.

"Inside the cab of his truck police recovered a 9mm Glock pistol with a 15-round magazine loaded with 14 rounds and one round in the chamber," he said. "An additional loaded 9-round magazine was found in the truck."

Officers also found the pot, drug paraphernalia, metal knuckles and the gummies.

The truck was impounded and Morse was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Center.

He's charged with various illegal weapons, ammo and drug counts.
