The shooter -- described as black, about 6 feet tall and wearing a blue jersey -- fled on foot from the area of Donnie and Junior's at 43 South Main Street around 1:55 a.m., responders told Daily Voice.

Several area departments and Bergen County Sheriff's officers -- including a K-9 unit -- responded, they said.

The victim, who police said they found on Central Avenue, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, they said.

Police are "currently actively investigating the case in an attempt to locate the suspect," Lt. Robert Salerno said Wednesday morning.

He asked that anyone with any information that could help the investigation contact the department's Detective Division at (973) 473-7600.
