FORT LEE, N.J. (UPDATE) -- Early Friday evening rush-hour traffic remained backed up for miles from the George Washington Bridge to the Westchester County line.
A single lane of the upper level of the George Washington Bridge into New Jersey was opened earlier after a jack-knifed tractor-trailer was removed from the span, Port Authority police said just after 1:15 p.m.
No injuries were reported in the crash between the rig and another truck, which occurred around 12:15 p.m., the Port Authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
Delays were expected to continue as crews cleaned up a 40-to-50-gallon diesel fuel spill.
