Luis Javier Vasquez, 27, and Pedro Diaz, 36, were taken into custody and later released pending court hearings after their silver 2007 Hyundai Sonata was stopped and charged, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Thursday.

Both were charged with “transporting or possessing property believed to be derived from criminal activity," the prosecutor said.

Vasquez also was charged with using a bogus driver’s license, as well as identity theft and impersonation, Grewal said.

The money will be subject to forfeiture proceedings.
