Passenger Jumps Behind Wheel, Flees After Fort Lee Traffic Stop

FORT LEE, N.J. -- A passenger jumped into the driver's seat of a vehicle stopped by police in Fort Lee and took off, responders said.

Officers eventually broke off a pursuit of the blue 2006 Acura, which headed west on Route 80 after the stop around 2 p.m. on Route 95.

The car was registered out of Newark, police said.
