"We're hoping that members of the public keep a lookout for this person and vehicle and call us immediately if they have information that can help us," Lt. Mark Jackson told Daily Voice.

The 5-foot-9-inch robber entered the Delta station office on Grand Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. and assaulted the attendant with a black handgun, Jackson said.

The attendant, who wasn't injured, immediately called police, who released surveillance images.

The robber was described as 30 to 40 years old with a medium build, wearing a dark-colored hoodie over an orange shirt, sunglasses, faded blue jeans and sneakers.

He fled north on Grand Avenue in a two-door silver BMW convertible with a black top -- possibly a 1999 to 2003 -- with a loud exhaust.

A short distance up the road, he was seen without the hoodie, Jackson said.

Anyone with information that can help catch him is asked to call Palisades Park police: (201) 944-0900.
