The 36-year-old victim said she was approached from behind as she entered the Broad Avenue building vestibule just before 4 p.m. Saturday, Police Chief Benjamin Ramos told Daily Voice.

"As she climbed the stairs and got to the landing to ring the door bell, she said, she was groped by a man approximately in his 30s or 40s, 150 to 170 pounds, with black hair and black eyes and light-skinned," Ramos said.

He was wearing a khaki jacket made of thin material and dark denim jeans.

The woman said she slapped his hand away after he grabbed her buttocks a first time before he did it again with both hands.

She said she slapped his hands again and he took off, eventually running south on Edsall Boulevard.

Ramos asked that anyone who might recognize him or have information that could help the investigation call Palisades Park police: (201) 944-0900.
