‘Missing’ man charged in Teaneck gunpoint sexual assault

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 49-year-old former Fort Lee man who’d been reported missing three years ago was arrested by Teaneck police before dawn today following a gunpoint sexual assault.

Bum S. Suh of Teaneck was in police custody at Bergen Regional Medical Center with bail set at $500,000. The victim was taken to an area hospital around 1 a.m., police said.

Authorities characterized Suh as “mentally challenged” when he was reported missing by his family in December 2010. He was last seen at the Port Authority bus terminal on 42nd Street in Manhattan and was believed headed to California.

The charges against Suh:

  • Two counts of aggravated sexual assault;
  • Aggravated sexual assault with a weapon;
  • Criminal restraint;
  • Aggravated criminal sexual contact;
  • Illegal handgun and firearm possession charges
