Lodi Woman Charged With Abusing Boy, 10

LODI, N.J. – An unemployed Lodi woman was charged with child abuse after a 10-year-old boy showed up at school with a shoulder injury, authorities said Monday.

Joyce Gonzalez, 39, remained free without bail pending a hearing Saturday following her arrest the day before, records show.

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal’s said members of his Special Victims Unit were notified by the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency. They then investigated, along with Lodi police, before arresting Gonzalez, he said.
