Girl, 16, says Leonia man molested her after offering ride

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A married construction worker from Leonia who offered a 16-year-old girl a ride molested her in his car before she managed to break free, authorities said today.

Wilfredo Arias, 48, was arrested just after midnight Friday after the girl called 911, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.

He being held on $500,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with sexual assault and child endangerment, after detectives from the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and Leonia police investigated, Molinelli said.

Arias is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.
