In addition to the $50,000 a local judge set for 31-year-old Cheng Chun Jin, immigration authorities have filed a detainer on him with the Bergen County Jail for failing to appear at a hearing in Batavia, N.Y., records show.

Jin, who’s been living in a Henry Street apartment in Palisades Park, is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and aggravated assault, in addition to the failure to appear offense.

Fort Lee police were called to a single-family home on Fifth Street, just off Washington Avenue near Lemoine Avenue, just before 11 o’clock Friday night.

An apparently intoxicated Jin struck the other man and then tried to run when officers arrived, Ripoli said.
