Fort Lee officer, K9 partner find pound of cocaine, Oxy, cash in car

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Fort Lee police officer and his K9 partner picked off two Manhattan men who they said were carrying more than a pound of cocaine and several Oxycontin pills in a secret compartment of their glove box.

Officer Richard Hernandez was on patrol with K9 Greener when he stopped their Honda Odyssey for improper turn at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Police Capt. Stanley Zon told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .

After obtaining a search consent, Hernandez turned Greener loose — and got a positive indication, Zon said.

In addition to the drugs, police seized more than $6,000 in cash, as well as several individually wrapped bags of rock cocaine, the captain said.

Angel Alvarez, 27, and Frederick Faulcon, 24, were being held on $100,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail, charged wih possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute the drug, similar Oxycontin-related counts and money laundering, Zon said.
