“I’m honored to receive the recognition from the Chamber of Commerce and to be joining a list of distinguished people who are part of Fort Lee’s history, a list of those who have given back to the business community," Bendul said.'
"He has a certain manner that just builds confidence and trust," said Doug Feltman, the president of the Fort Lee Regional Chamber of Commerce. "I find that unusual in a police officer. "He makes the time to talk to everyone, and he is a wonderful man," Feltman said.
Members of the non-profit organization for business professionals expect nearly 300 attendees at the black-tie-optional event at the Palisadium in Cliffside Park.
The group will also recognize Mary Ann Hubschmann, the longtime owner of The Palisades Preschool & Kindergarten in Fort Lee and the Palisades Country Day School in Closter.
The organization uses funds from the event towards scholarships.
Individual tickets are $150 each. Cocktail hour is at 6:30 p.m.
