East Rutherford Cyclist, 54, Struck Outside Wallington Bowling Alley

WALLLINGTON, N.J. -- A 54-year-old East Rutherford bicyclist struck outside a popular Wallington bowling alley was hospitalized with critical injuries, authorities said.

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Fatal Accident team was continuing.

The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center after being struck by a 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck around 9 p.m. Tuesday in front of the Bowlero bowling alley on Paterson Avenue, Police Chief Carmello Imbruglia said.

No summonses were immediately issued or charges brought against the 24-year-old driver from Wallington.

However, Imbruglia said an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Fatal Accident team was continuing.
