Bergen Prosecutor: Pot-Dealing Salon Manager Had 5 Pounds

HACKENSACK, N.J. – An Essex County salon manager was selling pot in Bergen County, said authorities who reported seizing five pounds of it from his car.

Detectives took Jason D. Nguyen, 39, into custody and found the marijuana on Wednesday after an undercover buy, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Thursday.

They also found a vacuum sealer and digital scale during a search of his home, the prosecutor said.

He estimated the street value of the pot at $25,000.

Nguyen was ordered held in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing on drug charges.

Grewal, meanwhile, thanked Hackensack, Emerson and Upper Saddle River police for their participation, as well as the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and Bloomfield police for their roles.
