Superior Court Judge John A. Conte agreed to the reduction after a defense lawyer described the role of Erin Royer as “peripheral” to the crime.

Royer was “merely present in the home” when a man was shot there in the abdomen, defense attorney Tana McPherson argued. “She was in another room when the robbery took place.”

Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Gary Donatello agreed on the $100,000 figure, while noting that “these are serious charges, including armed robbery and robbery with conspiracy.”

CLIFFVIEW PILOT reported exclusively on Monday that Royer — who lives in the Greenhouse on Anderson Avenue, where the Nov. 11 shooting occurred — was also being considered a victim in addition to being charged as an accomplice to Jersey City brothers Wessan and Anas Abulaban.

Wessan Abulaban, a 34-year-old ex-con who authorities said pulled the trigger, lost a bid to have his $350,000 bail reduced last week, while his 30-year-old brother Anas, had his bail cut to $150,000. Both remained held in the Bergen County Jail.

Wessan Abulaban is charged with attempted murder, two counts of robbery by force, aggravated assault, conspiracy and a host of weapons counts — including being a convicted felon in possession of a gun for a drug- and assault-related conviction out of Fort Lee more than a decade ago, court records show.

Anas Abulaban and Royer are both charged with robbery by force and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The aggravated assault charge against Wessan Abulaban is for allegedly pointing the gun against Royer, documents show.

The man shot also is being charged in the case, sources told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. READ MORE….
