PALISADES PARK, N.J. -- Peter M. Giannantonio of Palisades Park died peacefully in his home Sunday at the age of 87.

Giannantonio was one of ten siblings born to Antonio and Luisa Giannantonio.

He proudly served his country in the Army during the post-World War II reconstruction period, then worked in the embroidery and food industries that are plentiful in northern New Jersey. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Ridgefield.

Giannantonio was a proud lifelong resident of Palisades Park, caring for his home at the top of Brinckerhoff Avenue.

He is survived by his sister, Christine Lischick and brothers Eddie and Gene. He is predeceased by his sister Phyllis Gentile and brothers Frank, Nick, Emil, Anthony, and Albert. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Giannantonio’s family is grateful to friends who cared for him and helped him stay active to the end of his life.

Funeral mass was Wednesday in St. Nicholas R.C. Church; entombment followed in the Madonna Cemetery mausoleum, Fort Lee.
