PALISADES PARK, N.J. -- Mary Matarazzo (nee Cherubini), 93, died Monday, Dec. 14.
She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years Patsy, her three children Patrick Matarazzo, Dr. Thomas Matarazzo and his wife Barbara, and Diane Handschin and her husband Michael, seven grandchildren Ida-Marie and her husband James Mascolo, Patrick and his wife Carol Matarazzo, Dina Matarazzo and her fiancé Joseph Vitorino, Robert Matarazzo, Michael Handschin, Samantha Matarazzo and Ryan Handschin, and her two great-grandchildren P.J. and Owen Matarazzo.
She was predeceased by her brothers Jack and Mario Cherubini.
Matarazzo originally was from Union City and lived in Cliffside Park for her entire marriage. She also lived in West Milford and Vista, Calif.
She loved having her family around her, especially on Sundays for her homemade meals.
There will be a funeral at 9 a.m. Matarazzo at the Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave., Fort Lee, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Fairview. Interment will be in Madonna Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
