LEONIA, N.J. -- For approximately the next month, Lewis Tree Service, under contract with Public Service Enterprise Group, will be pruning trees within the borough of Leonia, along the electrical power lines.

Lewis is unable to provide advance notice of the exact areas where it will be working on any given day since the crews are following electrical grid circuit maps and not road maps.

PSE&G has evaluated every tree affected by its electrical transmission lines and is following protocols issued by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

Given the time of the year, some of the work may appear to be drastic as the trees will not leaf for another few weeks.

The purpose of this project is to better serve residents since it is almost always tree limbs falling that cause power outages.
