In 2013, Michael C. Brady of Teaneck allegedly acted surprised when a group of relatives found the bodies of Tam Marie “Tammy” Pitts-Gaddy and her daughter, Daily Voice reported.
Family members confronted Brady the day before, after not being able to reach Pitts-Gaddy, authorities said.
“It is alleged that during the early morning hours of Monday … Pitts-Gaddy and Brady had an altercation during which Michael Brady stabbed her,” Former Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
“It is believed the child witnessed the altercation and stabbing, and that Brady smothered her to death by holding a plastic bag over her head.
“He then fled the residence.”
Since January 2013, Brady was being held on $2 million bail at the Bergen County Jail. He was released after Wednesday's verdict, NJ.com says.
