Omayra M. Medina, 19, and Delfin I. Castillo, 21, were charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child, and ordered not to have any contact with the child, the article says.

In March, the couple brought the then-3-month-old baby to Jersey City Medical Center for a chest x-ray to check for pneumonia, but medical staff found multiple fractures and bruising on the baby's chest, according to a criminal complain cited in the article.

Medina and Castillo denied beating the defenseless baby but an evaluation at Audrey Hepburn Children's House in Hackensack found that the boy had signs of multiple fractures, NJ.com reports.
