The three boys – who were bunking together at Camp Nah-Jee-Wah in Milford, Pennsylvania – were taken as a precautionary measure and released, the story says.

Daniel Beer, 11, died Monday at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, New York. He was treated at the camp infirmary for “gastrointestinal symptoms” Sunday night and was taken to the hospital Monday morning, where his “symptoms worsened suddenly,” according to an email from the executive director of NJY Camps obtained by NJ.com.

Officials are investigating whether the other children’s illnesses are connected with Beer’s death, the story says.
