Adidas Sneakers Presented As Evidence In Hackensack Murder Trial

HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Adidas sneakers belonging to the man accused of beating a 70-year-old realtor to death before setting her on fire in 2012 were presented to a Hackensack jury Tuesday, NorthJersey.com reports.

Two pairs of shoes found in Daniel Rochat's Wood-Ridge apartment seemed to match a footprint impression lifted from the scene, the article says.

Rochat, a Waldwick native, is accused of breaking into Barbara Vernieri’s Sheppard Terrace home, bludgeoning her and then setting fire to the body in what prosecutors said was an attempt to avoid detection.
