Church member Florence Dorwie founded Sa Leone Health Pride in 2004. The organization focuses on Sierra Leone and other West African countries, using education to reduce the maternal and fetal mortality rate, which remains high. "The 'Each One Teach One' model is used to empower and educate healthcare workers, women, mothers and the community," organizers note.

The special offering will be collected during the worship service -- but clearly marked gifts for Sa Leone Health Pride can be mailed to the church office at any time: 396 Broad Ave., Leonia, NJ 07605.
