"Missimomo" is a collection of personal work from the past five years. Ma "loves to dream up whimsical characters and worlds to paint," organizers note. She "has always created whimsical and playful pieces, whether it be inks on paper, acrylic on stone, or felt and mixed media."
Born in China, Ma has lived in several places in Europe and the U.S. She has a degree in illustration from Kent Institute of Art and Design, as well as a master's in 3D computer animation from the National Centre for Computer Animation, in the United Kingdom.
Ma creates from a wide range of influences -- Japanese folk tales, comic books, science illustrations, animation, food and drink, local nature walks, and even her own children.
The exhibit can be viewed during library hours. "Come visit and smile," organizers note.
