Pedals For Progress: Bogota Church Collects Bikes

BOGOTA, N.J. — The St. Joseph Church in Bogota is collecting bicycles to send to children and adults in Nicaragua, Ghana, Albania, Fiji and Guatemala.

The Pedals for Progress drive will be on Sat., Oct. 1 in the church parking lot from noon to 3 p.m.

Bikes should be rust free. Children‘s trikes will not be accepted, but bikes with flat tires in need of some repair are accepted. There is a mandatory $10 donation.

The bicycles will help farmers get to and from work. Some of the bicycles collected will go to the Roma community in Albania and some to Moldova, both developing countries in the Balkans.
