Fort Lee Crooner Contest To Crown Best Sinatra Cover Artist

FORT LEE, N.J. — Calling all crooners: A Sinatra sing-off is coming to the GW Grill in Fort Lee in November.

Fort Lee celebrates the life of legendary singer Frank Sinatra with a sing-off to crown the best impersonator.

The contest, part of the Fort Lee Film Commission’s celebration of Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday, is recruiting talent for the first round competition Nov. 7.

WFDU DJ Christine Vitale and a panel of judges will select the first-round picks, who will be invited back Nov. 21. Winners of the second round will perform in the Dec. 5 final.

The winner of the finals will perform Dec. 12 at the Sinatra Centennial Birthday Party at In Napoli Restaurant in Fort Lee.

Sinatra performed at the famed Bill Miller's Riviera Nightclub atop the Fort Lee Palisades in the 1940s and 1950s; his most famous two-week performance there being his September 1953 comeback.
