The guest speaker at the library's monthly writer's workshop is Barry Sheinkopf, who's director of the Writing Center in Englewood Cliffs. Sheinkopf teaches professional writing courses, and he'll give you the inside scoop on the Big Four Steps you need to know about in self-publishing: editing, book design, manufacturing and marketing.

Last year, more than 65 percent of all new book titles published in America were self-published. The field has come a very long way in the last 15 years.

Sheinkopf, novelist, poet and essayist, is also president of Bookshapers, a boutique book-design firm and publisher of Full Court Press, which currently has nearly 200 titles in print.

The workshop will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Fort Lee Public Library is located at 320 Main St. To keep up with library events, visit its website or Facebook page.
