Fort Lee Library Features Songs Of The Civil War

FORT LEE, N.J. -- The Fort Lee Public Library will welcome back Jose Andrade, baritone with the Fort Lee Opera, accompanied by pianist Gerard Brown and guitarist Felicia De Sanctis for "Songs of the Civil War" at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The program will consist of songs from the Union and the Confederacy that the soldiers on both sides enjoyed back during the war.

"Beautiful Dreamer" by Stephen Foster; "Battle Hymn of the Republic" by Julia Ward Howe; "The Battle Cry of Freedom" by George Root; "Dixie Land" by Daniel Emmett; "The Yellow Rose of Texas" (anonymous); and "Bonnie Blue Flag" by Harry McCarthy are just a few of the songs to be included.
